Brightening the World with Our BRAND-NEW Chief Purpose Officer

Posted by Ava Kuhn on

At Vera Bradley, uplifting our community is at the core of everything we do — we know that together, we can create brighter, more joyful lives for girls and women everywhere.

Making the world a brighter place is so important to us we recently created a position on Vera Bradley Inc.'s c-suite to lead our efforts. We are so excited to introduce you to Stephanie Scheele, our go-to source of world-brightening inspiration who was named Vera Bradley Inc.'s Chief Purpose & Communication Officer.

We sat down with Stephanie to learn more about what principles we're empowering (all with the help of Y-O-U). Let's dive into the four pillars of our VB Cares efforts!

Finding a Cure

"Together, we're committed to finding a cure for breast cancer. In 1993, our co-founders began raising funds for breast cancer research after the loss of their dear friend and colleague. Since then, you've helped us raise more than $36 million to support life-saving research!"

"This September, we get to host one of our favorite events of the year. The 27th Annual Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Classic will bring friends and family together to create awareness, raise donations and spread hope. I can't wait for the women's golf charity tournament — and the pickleball tournament, too!"

Brightening Futures

"With your help, we love to make a difference for women and children around the world. Everyone deserves a bright start. From meeting the women of New Hope Girls in the Dominican Republic to giving back with Blessings in a Backpack, getting to see our impact first hand has been incredible!"

"Through working with Blessings in a Backpack and New Hope Girls, building a better future with Women Who Create and advocating for equality with Free Mom Hugs, there are so many ways to get involved and make a difference!"

Loving Locally

"We support more than 40 non-profit organizations in our hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and dozens more nationwide. We like to lend a hand however we can — like during the start of COVID-19, when we supported healthcare workers on the frontlines with donations made to the American Nurses Foundation!"

"From our hometown to the areas around the world that you get call home, we're committed to giving back however we can in times of need. Caring is at our core — and a big part of our promise to you."
