Fall Together: Meet the Models Who Helped Inspire a Collection for Community

Posted by Ava Kuhn on

For us, the new fall season is all about connection. We're bringing you all the styles you need to get back into the swing of things and back to those traditions, and people, you love most. So who better to show off the new collection than women from our own local community who are all about bringing people together? Come, meet our models!

Inspired by the daily adventures of their three children, Ashley makes tees and accessories for parents and their little crews. Her designs (which landed on Oprah’s Favorite Things last year) speak parenting truths that are sure to get a smile, and sometimes a high-five, from fellow mamas and dads that understand the struggles and specialness of family. Ashley, a former teacher turned Instagram entrepreneur, says the mission of KaAn is all about bringing families together.

“I lost my own mom as a young adult, and when she died, I didn’t have any pictures of us together. You know how it is — she never wanted to be in the picture because her hair wasn’t done or she didn't like her outfit."

An inspiration to makers and mamas everywhere, Emilia has been chasing (and crushing!) her dreams for the last nine years. She has taken her craft — simple wooden signs with sayings that people love — from local art fairs to a full-fledged business with a robust Etsy store and retail storefront in her hometown.

“Opening the doors of the store was a dream come true. The signs we make are great, but what I love most about this store we built is that it's become a place where people want to be and connect."

Emma is total #goals. At just 23 years old, this third-year nursing student built a business that locals just love to see pop up at their local farmers' markets and special events. She brings all the happy with her cute little flower cart set up so customers can build their very own bouquets. While Emma owns the business, it's a family affair: Her dad helped built the cart and her mom is always helping out at big events.

“We love watching people build their own bouquets. Seeing them pick out what brings them joy ... these flowers, this filler, a big bloom they just have to have."
